Hiking & Biking enthusiasts will be in heaven, when they take to Michigan's great outdoors!Non-motorized trails (called pathways) ranging in length from less than one-quarter of a mile to scenic overlooks to pathways hundreds of miles long
provide opportunities for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing in the winter to just name a few.
TheRails-to-Trails program also offers great opportunities for hikers and bikers.
The trails capitalize on the infrastructure provided by abandoned
railroads including a corridor, connections from town to town,

Today, there are 952 miles of Rails-Trails in Michigan, of which 860 are managed on the ground by the DNR.
Bicyclists can find many secondary paved and gravel roads to adventure on as well.
Enjoy the beauty of the countryside as you ride on your adventure.
Stop along the way at one of our scenic parks and enjoy a picnic lunch.
Michigan has several artesian well that we recommond you stop at for an ice cold drink of all natural spring water.
